1961 Cheval Blanc, St. Emilion, Bordeaux, France
Red-ish orange in the glass. Scents of tomato ketchup. Superbly defined and structured in the mouth. Smooth and velvet-like texture, and tonnes of fruit and concentration. Complexity for days, and a multitude of dimensions. Balanced, harmonious and packed with intense flavours of dark chocolate, all contributing to a stunning, long finish. A show stopper.
